Nancy Jean Ungaro (nee Taylor) 1930 -2013 the daughter of Edward H. Taylor and Anna Marie Guala
was raised in
Waukegan Illinois just north of Chicago. Her ethnicity was English and Scottish and Italian.

While raising five children she spent her time doing contesting at home and writing greeting cards for various companies.

In May 1962 she won $30,000 plus a years supply of laundry detergent which she distributed amongst her neighbors; in a contest run by Tide detergent and also won various TV’s and other prizes.

When she was in her 40’s she went back to school and earned her Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Social Work.

She was an avid book reader and enjoyed doing survey’s online in her later years.

When she was 82 years old, her daughter Debra Lenzi Copeland discovered through Ancestry.com that she was not an only child as she had always thought but actually had 7 half-siblings with 5 still living.

Connecting with her sister Donna brought closure to many questions she had over the years regarding the
father she never knew. When her children were growing up they were a tight knit family and every year they went on camping trips or to the beach to spend summer vacations and going to Church.

In February of 2016 while doing genealogy and dna, we discovered she was the 8th great granddaughter of Samuel Wardwell and Sarah Hooper. Samuel was falsely accused and hung as a witch during the Salem Witch Trials in September 1692, the only male out of 8 people that died that day. Ironically in April of 2016, The Learning Channel featured the actor Scott Foley on the genealogy program "Who Do You Think You Are?" and discoveres that he is the 8th great grandchild of Samuel Wardwell and Sarah Hooper as well.

She loved family gatherings and cooked many holiday meals.

She is survived by her ex husband of 37 years Joseph Ungaro, her daughter's Debra Lenzi Copeland (Mike), and Donna Ungaro, her son's Robert Ungaro (Stacey), Lawrence Loomis Ungaro (Lela ), her siblings Donna Taylor Whittley (Tony), Bob, Dwayne, Donald, and Pat Taylor, her granddaughter's Anastasia Hollaway (Joey), Justine Ungaro, Lauren Ungaro, Tara Ice and grandson's Peter Loomis Ungaro, Leyshon Williams and her great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her mother Anna Marie Guala, father Edward H. Taylor, granddaughter Jennifer Rep and son Steven Ungaro.
